"Landscapes of home”:  An art {therapy} workshop | EWMF

*SCROLL DOWN TO REGISTER*

Sonya (she/they) will be leading this workshop. She is a white bodied cis neurodivergent fat queer irish/germanic settler woman living on the stolen lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. They are a solo mom to two teens, 2 dogs, and a cat!

Sonya's practice as an artist is grounded in the relationships between all living beings and is focused on the process of becoming within and informed by those relationships.  Sonya is an art-as-process artist who seeks to explore the edges, and complexity of identity and lived experiences of self as part of systems.  Personally, Sonya loves to laugh her head off, eat delicious snacks, swim in cold water, experiment with colors and textures,  and sing songs in the round!

Growing community by fostering connection with self, each other and land. This workshop will offer space to experiment with perspective and creativity challenging the dominant narrative of self as separate from the natural world.  In this engaging process we will play with how we see and perceive the landscapes of place and self through photography and art making using pen, charcoal and paper, as well as felt and natural fibers.

No ART experience required.  All bodies welcome.

This workshop is brought to you as part of the East West Mural Fest!
