We host a number of accessible art workshops and public events throughout the year! For workshops & events the require registration, click on the event image on the calendar or scroll down and click on the activity title.

*We do not accept cash or cheque payments at events, unless registration is by donation. If you do not receive a confirmation email, you are not registered.
Workshop | Suds n’ Scents
Join us for a fun and interactive soap-making workshop for kids in partnership with Wychbury Ave Soap & Gifts and instructor Erin Fairweather. Using safe and kid-friendly materials, Erin will guide participants through each step of the soap-pouring process.

The Breakfast Club - Who Owns Ai Generated Art?
Join us for a morning of learning, networking, and breakfast, facilitated by students from Pro Bono Students Canada! In this session, we will discuss the existing legislation surrounding Ai art, interesting cases making their way through the system (did you know Getty images is suing Stable Diffusion?), and the benefits (and limitations!) of copyright protection. Enjoy a coffee with fellow artists and creatives as we try to answer the question: who owns Ai generated art?

Join talented local rock painter Elizabeth Upton and learn how to create a unique West Coast design on a molded rock form. Elizabeth will walk you through the steps to create a beautiful painted work.
Workshop | Frame Loom Weaving (in person)
Join the talented folks from Knotty By Nature in this frame loom weaving workshop. You’ll learn the basics of tapestry weaving, from warping your loom to mounting it and everything in between! You will leave this class with a finished wall hanging of your own design.

Linocut Workshop | Bloomin’ Bomb Bundles
In this workshop you will use carving tools to design and carve lino, then decorate and construct paper containers. Handmade native flower seed bombs will be provided to complete your Blooming Bomb Bundle!
Film Screening | Dance Like Everybody’s Watching (Virtual)
Join Simone Blais for a 30-minute film screening of her documentary Dance Like Everybody’s Watching. Following the screening Simone will lead a facilitated discussion around race and Black experiences in BC, grounded in the lens of arts and culture.
Creativity Series | The Creative Within (Virtual)
This four-week course is designed to give you inspiration and connect you with other creative types in your city. We will explore different ways, in a safe space, to help you foster your desire to live a creative life. Creativity can happen in the kitchen, on the golf course, in your basement or in a boardroom. And, that elusive “muse” that you are searching for will show up in the strangest places. Come and bring what is uniquely you and uncover your hidden passion(s).
Holiday Craft Workshop | Wreath Decorating
Come decorate winter wreaths! This workshop is fun and family-friendly. We will provide all the supplies you need. Wear some paint-safe clothing and prepare to get your hands a little dirty. We ask that each young crafter is accompanied by a parent helper.

Join instructor Dixie MacUisdin to learn about incorporating ink as a technique in watercolour painting. This class is suitable for those with some watercolour experience or beginners wanting to learn a new skill.
Drawing Workshop | Get Some Perspective!
We are pleased to offer a drawing skills workshop by illustrator Val Lawton at ECAH. Val’s an Esquimalt resident, professional illustrator and instructor, and a children’s book artist. Her classes are fun and relaxed! This class is suitable for all ages and all skill levels, including beginner. You'll learn how to use 1, 2 and 3 point linear perspective to make your artwork pop off the page.
